Accessibility Statement
Last updated: May 5, 2026 · About BehavioralHealthGuide.org
Our commitment
BehavioralHealthGuide.org is committed to ensuring that our website is accessible to people with disabilities. We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards across all pages.
What we've done
- Semantic HTML throughout — proper heading hierarchy, landmark regions, and list structures
- Skip-to-main-content links on all pages
- All interactive elements are keyboard navigable
- Form fields have visible labels and descriptive placeholder text
- Color contrast ratios meet or exceed WCAG AA minimums
- Provider search results include text alternatives to color coding
- Pages are tested with screen reader software (NVDA, VoiceOver)
- Crisis resources are accessible without JavaScript
Known limitations
We are actively working to improve the following:
- Some dynamic search result updates may not announce correctly to all screen readers
- Interactive tools (PHQ-9, GAD-7 screeners) are being reviewed for full keyboard accessibility
- PDF documents linked from topic pages may not be fully accessible
